Contemporary
Academy Street has recently incorporated Contemporary classes into our timetable. This dance genre incorporates elements of Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Lyrical genres. Contemporary is a versatile dance genre with a focus towards improvisation, a very different structure from other dance forms. Incorporating floor work and striving to connect the mind to the body through the fluidity of movement.
Additional Information
Our Contemporary classes are offered from the age of 8 years and upwards, to students who already attend another dance genre within the school. A foundation of dance technique training is beneficial to the understanding of the contemporary dance form.
